Programme Overview
The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is the world’s most popular exam qualification for 14 – to 16-year-olds, and the Cambridge IGCSE is recognized by universities and employers globally.
The IGCSE Programme is administered by the University of Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE). The IGCSE Programme is recognized worldwide, with over 9000 schools in 160 countries offering the Cambridge qualification.

In the two-year IGCSE programme Classes IX and X students study a range of subjects that are exciting and challenging. It helps improve performance by developing skills in creative thinking, enquiry and problem-solving. The holistic and experiential nature of learning balances knowledge, understanding and skills, and ensures that students are well-prepared for the A/ AS LEVEL, IB Diploma and other pre-university programmes.
In Class VIII, which is a preparatory year, students study academic subjects that prepare them for the IGCSE programme, ranging from First Language English, Second Languages like Hindi, Tamil or French, Sciences and Mathematics, along with co-scholastic subjects like Art & Design, Computer Science, Physical Education and Global Perspectives.
This is complemented by inter-disciplinary projects in Class VIII, to develop critical thinking and research skills. Cambridge IGCSE assessment takes place at the end of the course and can include written, oral, coursework and practical assessment. Grades are benchmarked using eight internationally recognized grades, A* to G, which have clear guidelines to explain the standard of achievement for each grade.
Cambridge IGCSE examination sessions occur twice a year, in June and November. Results are issued in August and January.
